The Generosity Movement

On #GivingTuesdayNow we want to express our gratitude to every worker putting themselves at risk to keep us healthy and safe, and to every person doing their part by adhering to social distancing practices to help flatten the curve. We have come a long way! Despite our physical separation, we see people who are newly empowered to be a part of the growing generosity movement — checking in with loved ones, friends or neighbours in need, volunteering for a community initiative, or supporting a favourite charity. Charities like Earthroots exist because groups of passionate people just like you self-organize around ideas that can make the world a better place. The pandemic has brought many inequities and weak spots in our society to the forefront — yet we have also seen the almost unbelievable impact our individual choices can make collectively when we act with a common goal. Witnessing these changes in real time crystallizes our hope for a future where the interconnected well-being of humans, animals and plants — our living, breathing, fragile life systems — are not just sustained by our goals and actions, but flourish.
